Tracy Crouch (Tap) is the owner and director of Regency Dance
Academy. She has been dancing and performing, and involved with the dance
for over forty-five years. She attended Radford University with an emphasis in
dance and education, finishing with an education degree. Tracy is an
experienced teacher, choreographer, and performer in all levels of tap, jazz, and
ballet. Regency Dance Academy is celebrating it's eighteenth successful year
and has been voted "Best Dance Studio for Children and Adults" by Richmond
Magazine.
Tracy is particularly proud of her adult dance department at the studio. Adult
students number over 200 at Regency Dance Academy, studying and
performing all styles and levels of dance. Tracy personally ensures that all
students, ages three to eighty-three enjoy a positive and exciting experience at
Regency Dance Academy.
Additionally, Tracy conducts numerous award-winning Showtroupes which
compete regionally and nationally, consistently bringing home multiple
First-place and specialty awards. Tracy is very proud of her students and
teachers, and looks forward to many more wonderful years as Director of
Regency Dance Academy.
Arthur Purslow (Jazz, Lyrical, Tap) has been a member of Regency Dance Academy's faculty
for fifteen years. Arthur teaches Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical classes for all ages and levels. Arthur is a native of
Boston, Massachusetts where he began dancing at the age of twelve. He has been professionally involved in
the dance field for over 20 years. Arthur hails from a very musically talented family, and his mother owned
and operated her own dance studio. His experience encompasses Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Ballet, Ballroom Dance,
and Musical Comedy.
At the age of eighteen, Arthur preformed in the musical, "A Chorus Line" in Boston, which was the beginning
of a distinguished career as a paid professional. Since then, Arthur has performed in countless productions
and shows. He has performed with Busch Gardens, Kings Island Productions, and the Main Stage Show at
Kings Dominion for seven years.
Arthur has contributed his talents to the Regency Dance Academy Showtroupes, winning multiple First Place
awards and several choreography awards and honors. Arthur is a truly an asset to Regency Dance Academy
and we are blessed to have him as a member of our faculty.
Miss Jennifer (Jenny) Roystone got her start in dance at the age of twelve, right here at
Regency Dance Acdemy. After studying ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical and participating in dace
competions, she went on to study at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). At VCU she studied
modern, ballet, tap, ballroom and world dance, learning from renowned artists such as Doug Varone
and Ronald K. Brown. Jenny aslo had the honor of performing with the legendary Martha Graham
Dance Company while at VCU. Miss Jenny is returning to Regency Dance Academy as a children's
dance teacher after having lived in Washington, DC for five years where she continued her dance
education by attending frequent dance performances at Wolftrap and the Kennedy Center, most
recently seeing Shen Wei who is choreographing the opening ceremonies at the 2008 Beijing
Olympics. Miss Jenny is excited to return to Regency Dance Acdemy to impart her love of the art of
dance and movement to RDA's students.
Keith Lamont Sutton at the age of 10, keith saw the Movie , Tap! It was then that he was
inspired to become not just a dancer, but for dance to become his life. His training and experience
has expanded across just about realm of the dance industry, including tap, jazz, hip-hop, ballet,
modern and lyrical.
Keith began studying tap in MIdlothian, VA. After ten years of training and perfecting his craft, keith
began teaching hip-hop- a dance form in which he has always been fond of.
He believes that it allows for cultural reflection, as well as creative self-expression.
Keith has studied under such artists as, Barry Youngblood, Aysha Upchurch, and Frank Hatchett. He
has also worked with the Broadway Dance Center in New York alongside dance artists such as, chio,
Ant Boogie, Rhapsody, Bev B, Soul Fire, and Gremain Goodson.
Keith also choreographs for recitals and competions, which allows him to showcase his technical
training and raw energy, that gives his hip-hop dance and innovative flare.
Mr. Sutton also combines his dance training with his background as a former football, basketball,
and track & field athlete and fitness expertise. In addition to mixed-level hip-hop classes, Keith has
also taught strengthening, conditioning and ab classes at AFF. Receiving certification from this gym
enabled him to lead group exercise classes the incorporate free weights.
Keith is on the rise and establishing himself in his hometown of Richmond, VA and beyond. His
budding talent has caught many eyes, including the NOVA Talent Agency. School, private businesses,
teen and adults seek out Mr. Keith Sutton for private lessons and fitness training sessions. Keith is
thrilled to become apart of our family here at Regency Dance Academy. We look forward to a new
year with an amazing new hip-hop teacher!!
Lauren B. Morris has lived throughout the United States, in Bermuda, and traveled extensively before
settling in Richmond, Virginia. Graduating cum laude at Virginia Commonwealth University, she was honored
with the Outstanding Performer Award in Dance and Choreography. While at VCU, and subsequent, Lauren
had the opportunity to perform under the direction of Scott Putman, Gesel Mason, and Gerri Houlihan. In
2005 she traveled to San Jose, Costa Rica to study modern dance, choreography, and automated lighting
design. She attended the Bates Dance Festival in Lewiston, Maine, where she studied with Craig Patterson,
Michelle Miller, and Tere O'Connor. Her choreography for the Woodbridge Senior High School Vikette Dance
Team from 2003 to 2005 won numerous awards at the Eastern Dance Association National Competition in
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. During the past three years, Lauren has applied her choreography expertise
through instruction in ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop at local dance studios in Richmond and Northern
Virginia. She also had the opportunity to teach jazz and hip hop at the Virginia Commonwealth University
summer dance intensive in 2006 and 2007. Lauren performed with the Starr Foster Dance Project from
2002 to 2006 and is currently dancing with Amaranth Contemporary Dance in Richmond. Lauren is also an
adjunct dance instructor at the College of William and Mary.
Nadine Marie Stepp began her Ballet and Jazz studies in Mathews, Virginia under the guidance of
Deborah Diggs. At age fourteen, Nadine exhibited a natural talent for teaching and began assisting with
children's classes and eventually began substitute teaching. Nadine continued her Ballet, Character, and
Modern dance training in Williamsburg Virginia where she became a member of Sandra Ballestracci's
Contemporary Ballet Theatre (Now Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts). While in Williamsburg, she
studied with renowned teachers and choreographers such as Mansur Kamaletdinov and Rudolf Kharatian.
Nadine also taught enrichment programs in area schools, adult classes, and continued to teach for Mrs.
Diggs. Upon graduation from high school, Nadine traveled abroad and throughout the United States.
In 2000, Nadine returned to Virginia and began teaching all levels of Ballet and Jazz at the Diggs School of
Dance where she became a co-director and choreographer for the Bayside Youth Ballet student company in
Gloucester, VA. While at BYB, Nadine re-staged classics and choreographed numerous original contemporary
works.
Nadine moved to Richmond in 2004. Upon her arrival, she began her relationship with Regency Dance
Academy, teaching Ballet, Jazz, and Children’s Classes. Nadine also teaches Adult Ballet and Yoga at the
Weinstein J.C.C. and Ballet for Highland Dancers at Thistle and Shamrock Dance Academy. Nadine is thrilled
to begin another exciting year with Regency Dance Academy. She resides in Henrico County with her husband,
Eric and daughter, Isabella.
DebraLee is excited to join the Regency Dance Academy family. Her training began like many of the
students here, taking classes at studios in VA Beach, Hampton, Richmond, DC & New York. She has taught
at Chesterfield Dance Center, Bon Air Dance & Palliates,and Universal Dance Association. She was a
member and choreographer with the Richmond Speed Dance Team for 3 years, also performing with Virginia
Commonwealth University's Dance team for 2 years. Before that she was an active company member for
Fusion Dance Company, danced invarious Paramount’s Productions, appeared in a Public Service
Commercial for Youth Matters, choreographed & performed in show choir, and taught private Camps for the
youth community and high schooldance teams. She is thankful to have been a Dance Major at both James
Madison University (2000/2001) and Virginia Commonwealth University (2001-2003). Currently, DebraLee
practices ashtanga yoga regularly, hoping to refine this practice and become a yoga instructor in the future.
She is a graduate of The Institute of Massage Therapies and will soon obtain her nationally recognized
certification as a Massage Therapist. She hopes to ignite the same spirit and passion that she possesses to
all whom share the same enthusiasm for dance, movement and contact.
