Nadine began her dance studies in the small Chesapeake Bay community of Mathews, Virginia with Debbie Diggs. As her interest and dedication for ballet grew, Ms. Diggs encouraged her to train in a pre-professional program with renowned ballerina and teacher, Sandra Ballestracci, in Williamsburg.
Nadine quickly advanced in her ballet character, and modern dance training and performed as a member of Contemporary Ballet Theatre at Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts. Dorrington also performed at the Mansur Kamaletdinov School of Ballet.
While still in high school, she began assisting with children’s classes, substituting, and eventually began teaching her own ballet classes for youth and adults. Several years later, Nadine returned to her hometown and began teaching creative movement, ballet, and jazz and served as a guest artist, co-director, and choreographer for the Bayside Youth Ballet. In 2004, she moved to Richmond where she has shared her love for movement not only as a dance teacher but as a yoga teacher and teacher trainer. Nadine has a background in social work and has spent many years working with women and children in need. She is the proud mother of two talented dancers, Isabella and Rosemary, and is excited to begin another season with Regency Dance Academy.
